Hear from Parents and Carers

“The key takeaways for me were Piaget’s core idea, scaffolding to help learning occur, and formulation plans. The session on self-harm and suicidal thoughts was particularly valuable – it can be hard to know what to say to someone in that situation, and now I feel much more prepared.”

“The trainer was excellent – constantly asking if the pace was right and ensuring all questions were answered fully. Nothing felt rushed or glossed over.”

Formulation & Resilience Training (Rating: 5/5)

“I really enjoyed learning about the 5Ps of the psychological formulation model and trying out Maslow’s pyramid – I’d never seen it applied in this way before. The trauma-informed care section was a real eye-opener. I was able to identify traits in young people from my last job that could have been caused by trauma – things I was completely unaware of before.”

“The biggest change for me is that I now make sure to pause and reflect before reacting to challenging behaviour. That single shift will change how I work every day.”

Formulation & Resilience Training (Rating: 5/5)

“Everything about this training was impressive. The modules on suicide, theories, and formulation were outstanding, but honestly all modules are highly applicable. Nothing was missing. The trainer, Shakeel, was exceptional – he made complex ideas accessible and relevant to our daily work.”

What they’ll do differently: Use formulation with every young person.

Born Resilient Top Tips

Be inspired by our blog

Connection first. Everything else second.

Without genuine connection, influence crumbles, no matter your role. Build the bond before you try to guide, teach, or heal. Trust is the foundation everything else rests on.

Communication is your bridge.

Connection lives and dies by communication. Share your struggles, seek understanding, and truly listen to what others are carrying.

Asking for help is a strength.

You don’t have to carry it all. The bravest, most resilient move is often turning to someone and saying, “I can’t do this alone.”

You were born resilient.

Life’s weight makes us forget who we are underneath. The first step toward overcoming any struggle is remembering: that core strength never left you.

Resilience grows through the hard parts.

Resilience isn’t avoiding adversity; it’s developing well because of it. Every challenge holds a hidden curriculum for growth.

Patterns don’t lie.

We all move in loops. Notice your own, then gently observe the patterns playing out in the people around you. What you spot, you can shift.

Emotions are the engine.

Feelings fuel every action. Learn how emotions really work, in yourself and those you care for, and you’ll stop reacting blindly and start responding wisely.

Your beliefs shape your world.

Beliefs give birth to thoughts, and thoughts drive actions. Uncover the beliefs that run beneath the surface; yours and theirs, and behaviour starts to make sense.
