Services That Transform Practice
Every child in residential care carries a story that goes far deeper than the behaviour you see on shift. Our training gives your team the skills to read that story, respond with empathy, and guide young people toward a future they can believe in.
While our work is expanding, we are currently focused on one flagship programme designed specifically for the realities of children’s homes. More opportunities for schools, healthcare teams, and organisations are on the way.

Formulation & Resilience: Understanding the Whole Child
A 5‑hour in‑person or virtual workshop for children’s residential homes across the UK.
This training equips care workers, support staff, senior practitioners, and team leaders to move beyond managing surface behaviour. Using psychological formulation and the R.I.S.E. Resilience Map, your team will learn to see the whole child; past, present, and potential future, and become the consistent, empathic guides young people need.
What Your Team Will Learn
By the end of the session, learners will be able to:
- Define the 5P BioPsychoSocial formulation headings
- Explain why understanding a young person’s developmental history is essential to therapeutic care
- Apply the 5P framework to a case study to create a working formulation
- Construct a multi‑agency management plan based on that formulation
- Co‑create a hopeful future vision with a young person using the R.I.S.E. Resilience Map
The Framework at the Heart of This Training: R.I.S.E.
We teach staff to navigate the four waypoints that spell RISE:
- Ridge of Reaction – The defensive, difficult behaviour you first meet
- Valley of Injury – The hidden trauma, loss, and unmet need
- Spring of Self – The child’s original strengths, talents, and identity
- Summit of Empowerment – The healed, resilient future they can co‑create
Teams leave with a shared language, a printed R.I.S.E. map for the staff room, and a pocket card that guides real‑time responses on shift.

The Impact on Practice
“Relaxed but professional and insightful”, Attendee, 08/02/2026 (Rating: 5/5)
“The training provided in-depth information that I can actually use. The section on caring for children from a parent perspective was eye-opening. The trainer created a relaxed environment while remaining completely professional and insightful. I would highly recommend this to any team.”
“Now I know what to say when someone is struggling”, Attendee, 09/02/2026 (Rating: 5/5)**
“Behaviour is communication. That one idea changes everything. The sessions on self-harm and suicide were where I learned the most. I was least confident in that area before, but now I feel like I can apply my new knowledge as a youth support worker. I learned to breathe and stay calm in risky situations. The trainer was slow and engaging, nothing felt rushed.”

“Impressive. A huge thank you.”, Attendee, 09/02/2026 (Rating: 5/5)
“Everything about this training was impressive. The modules on suicide, theories, and formulation were outstanding, but honestly all modules are highly applicable. Nothing was missing. The trainer, Shakeel, was exceptional. He made complex ideas accessible and relevant to our daily work.”
